Chichen Itza Deluxe Tour with Valladolid
Description

Distance from Fairmont Mayakoba: 2 hours 30 min.  If the new rail service is available, this will cut the travel time in half.

Chichen Itzá, is one of the 7 Wonders of the world. The ancient Maya capital was home to the greatest astronomers, mathematicians, and architects of the Maya during the classic period (AD 600-1250). 202 kms. South of Cancun. Its stunning buildings, which remain standing today, offer a breathtaking sight.

The 75 ft. high Pyramid of Kukulcan, the Ball Court, where the game of life and death was played for hundreds of years. A Jade Jaguar proudly resides inside the pyramid; and the Palace of the Columns, the Caracol Observatory, and the Temple of the Warriors are proof of a once flourishing civilization. And of course, there is the mysterious Cenote Sagrado or the “Well of the Sacrifices”, where human sacrifices were offered to Chaac, the Maya rain god.

From Mayakoba, we will drive to Chichen Itza where an experienced guide will take you through the spectacular ruins. Afterward, you will be transferred for lunch to Selva Maya at Valladolid, an enchanting colonial town. There will be time for shopping in this historic town.

Xcaret at Night with Dinner at Grand Tlachco
Description

Xcaret – a nature's sacred paradise was for more than ten centuries one of the most important Mayan ceremonial centers and seaports. Now it has become an incredible eco-archaeological park, which offers something for everyone. On this special tour you will enjoy the natural beauty of the park and as night falls, enjoy the spectacle of Xcaret lit by candlelight.

The Xcaret at Night Show begins with a mystical journey into the past experiencing the ancient Mayan culture and our Mexican history as well. We will walk through the Valley of the Aromas towards the Grand Tlachco Theatre for the presentation of a colorful and spectacular show including groups of dancers, singers, and musicians - the best of our folkloric traditions including the recent attraction in Xcaret - the ball game with fireball or “Uárhukua” a ball game named by the Mayan as “Pok-ta-Pok” due to the sound made by the ball (the last ball court constructed by the Mayan was in the year of 590/600 B.C.) This game is of religious characteristics, still being practiced in the State of Michoacan; it represents an act of veneration to Kuricaveri God of Fire and main deity among the Púrhépecha people. The ball symbolizes the sun and the court the universe where the stars play. During the show dinner is served at Grand Tlachco.
